Residential project in Wilmette, Illinois
This project entalled a 2200 square foot two story addition to an existing prarie school style home that was originally designed by an apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright.
The structure is conventional wood frame bearing wall with brick veneer, floor framing is open web joists.
The existing foundations were underpinned at the new addition. The structure was enhanced with steel WF and tubular monent frames to satisfy the code for lateral resistance.
We also designed a reinforced cast in place concrete slab over the three car garage to accomodate an open air patio space with masonry knee walls.
